Sorry Guys

It's been all too long since I've made a post! The last couple of months have been hectic with both school and work; I haven't had a moment to relax let alone breath whew! Anyway classes are done for so I'm  less swamped which hopefully means I will once again have the time to dedicate to this blog and become reacquainted with everyone.

I haven't fully neglected my hair, but I have been keeping it low maintenance, the fact that it has yet revolted is a small miracle. I can't wait to get got up and get back in the swing of things; I've really missed you guys since I haven't been able to keep up with any of your posts and updates.

As for me, my hair has grown a bit since I chopped it all off and I've come to realize that my hair truly does flourish when I hide it away for awhile so for the first half of the year I tried out a multitude of styles and loved everyone! Now in the second half I've been wearing my hair out for probably close to two months and the one thing that I can say for sure is that I have learned how to do a decent braid-out, but the prep work is exhausting! DWL, I mean I hardly have any hair in terms of length, but the amount of hair on my head in terms of thickness is no joke. It doesn't help that for the time being I have to do my hair in relatively small sections to get the best results.

I haven't yet mastered how to make my curls last more than a day, but I think I may have found a solution, I just have to test it a few more times before I'm sure. Other than that I'm loving my curls and how little I've had to do this past week for them to actually make an appearance.

How about you guys, how goes your journey?

I did it y'all I chopped it all off! It's been on my mind for a while, I didn't like how it was feeling, and most importantly, I needed a fresh start. Not just with my hair, but also in other aspects of my life. I'm working on becoming a better me, someone I can be proud of.
I decided to stop making excuses, give myself realistic goals and deadlines and push myself to achieve said goals. I have a lot to work on, and I'm finally ready to work on them.

Back to my hair, everyone who knows has a lot to say, they think I'm cuckoo, especially since I've had braids installed lol. The consensus is that I'm gonna regret it, well, I've no regrets yet and intend to get more cut off professionally in a few months (I didn't quite get all the relaxed ends off). I'm not calling this my natural hair journey because I'm not yet sure if this is what it is. I might relax again, the only thing I know for certain is that I wanted to start from scratch.

More to come

Quik Update

FirsT and and foremost, HAPPY NEW YEAR one and all, may the new year be a prosperous one!

It's been so long since I've done an update about my hair and that's because I've both been busy and have done nothing noteworthy with my hair. I did an updo that I wore for a while then I wore the curls for a bit after I loosened the braids. Other than that I've fallen back on not doing much with my hair and I'm now more than ever to just chop it all off and start from scratch again.

On top of all that this ancient thing that I use is growing increasingly temperamental.

The Best Laid Plans...

Last week was supposed to be the end of my current stretch, I prepped for the relaxer, but you know how life goes sometimes; the moment I declared that I would be relaxing my nape started to burn, you read right, my nape began to burn! like WTH??? I still have no idea why. Then the rest of my scalp started to itch and I promise I held out as long as I could, but that burning itch at my nape was beckoning for a scratch! I had to give in. No lie, that was the best scratch I've ever felt lol. I need to wash and make sure my scalp isn't irritated so I can relax it soon.

Is it cutting it too close if I wash on Wednesday/ Thursday then relax on Sunday?

This is Super late, because I've been busy, didn't make any plans for this week, but here's a recap of last week's:
  • Seeing that my hair is loving the co-wash,  I'll be shooting to do it between two to three times.- I got two cowashes in. Score!
  • Time to push myself further and shoot for at least three bottles of water per day. Once upon a time this was no problem; I want to go back to that time.- I drank three bottles maybe once or twice, the rest of the time I got two.
  •  Scalp massage with oil mix every other day.-Passed!
  •  Eat salad everyday.-Passed!
  • Moisturize and seal as needed.- Epic Fail.

As I type this post I'm finger detangling getting ready to wash and prep my hair for next week's relaxer. I'll be six months post, and even though I'm not ready to relax, I'm over the different textures and the epic tangles that come with it.
